When numerous photos are transferred from a memory card to a computer, it is common to end up with lots of duplicate or very similar images that clutter up your folders unnecessarily. Visipics is a free software that aims to address this issue. It scans your hard drive for duplicate photos using five different filters that adjust the criteria for identifying duplicates by comparing images that are almost identical. In addition to finding similar images, VisiPics also allows you to choose specific folders to search for duplicates and automatically tags any duplicate images it finds. This feature enables you to decide whether to keep the higher quality version of the duplicates, especially if they were downloaded from the internet or received via email. Once VisiPics completes its scan and locates all duplicate images, you can choose to delete the duplicate files while the program continues scanning your computer, eliminating the need to wait for the entire scan to finish. The duplicates are displayed with detailed file information in a sidebar, including file name, format, and size, making it easy to identify and manage them.
